Syracuse, NY – November 6, 2010 - This year marked the 2nd Annual I Love Horses Art Show presented by the 2010 Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament. This is a juried exhibition of student and resident art work in a wide range of different media celebrating horses and horse and human interaction.
This year the art show had over 100 entries from talented artists from the Central New York area. They were judged in groups starting as young as Third grade and up to the college level. The entries were judged by Steve Kern from the Everson Museum of Art, Tim Foxx from News Chanel 9, Kim Waale from Cazenovia College, Mason Phelps with The National Horse Show as well as Honorary judges Senator David Valesky and Gold Medalist Beezie Madden. Cash awards were sponsored by the New York State Horse Council.
The quality of the work was excellent, and we saw fine examples done in acrylic, pastels, oils as well as beautiful photographs and pencil and crayon drawings from our youngest artists. All of the entries really captured the artist’s love of horses.
Gary Slate from the NY State Horse Council joined Dr. Karin Bump with the Syracuse Invitational for the announcement of awards.
